The Plek® system
The Plek® precise fret dressing system originated in Germany as a computer controlled alternative to traditional methods of manual fret dressing.
Here at Norman Music Center, we are proud to boast one of only thirteen Plek® machines in the nation. Complete with a professional setup our experienced staff, your instrument will be returned to you with lower action and amazing playability. We boast hundreds of satisfied guitarists have been astonished by the increased performance value of their instrument - whether their guitar was high-performance before or not.
Not convinced?
Read the description of the precision process our Plek machine applies to each and every guitar. Then watch the video at the bottom of this page. We think that you will be convinced, just like us and those who have had a guitar pleked, that it is well worth it.
A description of the Plek process
- Calculates the precise amount needing to be taken off the frets and the bridge to maximize playability.
- Measures and records fret height in relation to the fingerboard surrounding each string by using a mechanical "finger".
- Generates a complete mapping of the fretboard, including string paths and individual fret curvature.
- Grinds down the frets with unbelieveable accuracy, producing a smooth action across the entire fretboard.

Cost?
So now you wonder, "Great! But what does it cost?" The answer is, we think, very affordable. For most guitars, we charge $175. This includes the entire process -- absolutely everything, no hidden costs, start to finish.
